Mary J. Blige and Maxwell will tour together for the first time ever and will co-headline their King and Queen of Hearts World Tour. The UK tour begins on Friday 28 October as part of BluesFest in partnership with American Express at The O2.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday 28 July.

Maxwell's ‘blackSUMMERS’night’ was released on July 1 (Columbia Records), and is being talked of as one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2016. This is the two-time Grammy winner's first European tour in seven years.

 

Maxwell says, “Mary is the epitome of soul. She embodies all that is woman and speaks for the everyday struggle and triumphs of all women. I can’t wait to get on the road with her."

Mary J. Blige has sold over 50 million albums worldwide, while winning nine Grammy Awards and five American Music Awards. Her highly anticipated new album will be out this autumn.

Ms Blige says, "Maxwell's music is amazingly soulful and calm with a colourful tone that speaks to the hearts of women. His music makes them feel loved and I'm excited to get on the road with him."

Gabrielle is a multi-platinum selling, BRIT Award winning English singer and songwriter. Her unconventional image includes short tight curls and an eye patch or sunglasses.

Her debut single "Dreams" topped the UK Singles Chart in June 1993. Other singles include "Going Nowhere", "Give Me a Little More Time", "Walk On By" and "If You Ever" – a duet with East 17. After a few quiescent years Gabrielle made a comeback with "Rise", which became Gabrielle's second UK number one in 2000.

The album of the same name also reached the top spot in the UK Albums Chart, where it stayed for three weeks. "Out of Reach" from the soundtrack to the film Bridget Jones's Diary reached number four in the UK Singles Chart.
